My Favourite Sleep Products

I’m often asked what my favourite sleep products are, and while I am always happy to recommend, I truly believe that the best investment you can make to help your little one become a good sleeper is hiring a sleep consultant! There are lots of sleep contraptions out there, but their effectiveness is usually short-lived. The products below are things that will help your baby sleep better but will not solve your sleep issues if your baby does not have independent sleep skills.

Please do your own research into any of the products to ensure they meet safety standards – I am not a product safety expert!

Hatch Baby Rest

White noise is a great tool for babies and toddlers to cue their brain that it is sleep time and to block out ambient noise in the house or outside. It also has a night light so you can turn on a light in the night that will not disrupt melatonin levels. And as your baby turns into a toddler, it has an ok-to-wake clock – you can set the Hatch to turn on at a reasonable time in the morning helping to combat those early risers. One of the best features of the Hatch is that it is all controlled from your phone!

Mella Clock

It can sometimes be a struggle for toddlers to understand when it’s time to start their day. This clock has a white noise function, a night light, an “ok to wake” clock and nap timer all in one.

Time Tracker Mini

Help your toddler develop independent time management skills with this timer.

Love To Dream Swaddle

Swaddling is helpful for many babies but there are many differing opinions about it, so please do your research before you decide if swaddling is right for your baby. This is a great swaddle bag because it helps baby to feel confined and cozy while also allowing baby to move comfortably.

Zipadee Zip Swaddle

If your baby is starting to roll or is too old to be swaddled but still has a strong startle reflex, this is a great option before transitioning to a regular sleeveless sleep sack. “The slight resistance in the wing-span allows a baby to move around freely while still providing the enclosed, cozy sensation babies enjoy so much in the swaddle and the womb.”

Dreamegg Portable White Noise Machine

White noise is a great cue to your baby’s brain and body that it is sleep time and it also help to mask out any external noise.

Slumberpod

If the Slumberpod had of been around when my kids were babies, I would have bought one in a second. This portable tent goes over a travel crib or toddler cot and provides blackout conditions in any sleep space. It allows your child to sleep in a familiar space while creating a separate space so that if you’re sharing a room, you won’t disturb your child and vice versa!

Basic Blackout Curtains

If you’ve worked with me, you know that I highly recommend black out curtains and blinds for baby’s room.

Sleepout Black Out Curtains

This is a brand new Canadian company offering a portable blackout curtain using new technology. Another great option!

I hope these recommendations are helpful. Please remember that none of these products will solve your sleep issues if your baby doesn’t have a solid sleep foundation.
